Experience

My reflection in this entry has much to do with experience. You and I would not be present on planet earth without the experience of physical birth. As I think back on my life as an infant, I do not remember any of those days. Back when I was a child the only kind of photography in use produced black and white images. Being shown the photographs of my image with family members on those black and white pictures to this day does not produce any memories.

My family moved to the State of Florida when I was two and a half years old but I don’t recall that move either. There was one experience I had after moving to Florida with my family that occurred in a dream state. I recall in my dream that I had somehow gotten my head caught in the legs of my mother’s wooden ironing board. I recall in that dream that my mother and someone else who was present there was holding me still while she took a saw and sawed the legs in two to release me from being trapped in that situation. I will never forget my mother’s expression when I told her my dream there in Florida. She told me that that experience actually happened in the home we lived in before moving to Florida.

Experience matters but what I would like to raise for your consideration has to do with the experiences we have as humans on planet earth in relationship to our origin as beings made in the image and likeness of God. If it is true that we are light beings, which makes sense if God is Light and we are made in that image, then before we were born on to this planet we did not have a physical body. In essence, we were one with God in the Light. As beings in the Light we continually experienced the unconditional Love of God. However, once we were born on earth we began to experience a different kind of existence.

It doesn’t take much to recognize the difficulties we as human beings experience on mother earth. There is disease and catastrophic events that occur that we did not plan. There are also events that occur by our own making. Sometimes these events happen due to our own retaliation to what someone has done to us. People steal and murder. As long as we were in the Light of God’s unconditional Love before our earth arrival, we were unable to have such earthly experiences.

So what does our existence on mother earth intend to teach us? When we remember that we come from Love then we become aware that we really do have a choice in how we react to the hardships and difficulties faced on this planet. The kinds of experiences we have had can really teach us which way we need to react to them. If kindness really matters, then those times when we chose not to be kind can not only bring about sadness and disappointment within ourselves, but the same sadness and disappointment  can also be apparent within those to whom we did not show kindness.

So here’s a thought to consider. Is it possible that the only way we can have such experiences of hatred, envy, strife, dishonesty, violence and other such negative occurrences is to be born on earth after having passed through the veil  allowing our earthly three dimensional understanding to give us opportunity to awaken to our real essence and where we came from? I believe that there is NO Separation from the Love of God. But it may be possible that the God of Love, like a loving parent, wants to give us instruction to evolve in our abilities to Love like God Loves. That is why our decisions to be kind to one another makes such a difference.

Believe me when I say that I have gotten it wrong a number of times but as I am getting older it is becoming apparent to me that making the right choice to be kind every time is beginning to pay emotional and loving dividends that affect the lives of countless people. Much like the stone that falls into a pond. The impact made by the stone produces ripples that extend out three-hundred and sixty degrees from the impact point. I hope and trust that your impact will be loving and kind because it really does matter here on mother earth in every situation you find yourself and for every path you cross.

So true. The value of kindness to others is invaluable.
